Mushroom of a Garage

One sunny afternoon in 1993, I was on duty at Lei Muk Shue Fire Station. Soon after I had finished some paper works in the office, I heard a big`BANG' from outside. Whilst all of us were figuring out what was happening, some people screamed and slapped the station front gate hardly. After we opened the front gate, a black mushroom cloud was found hung over a garage opposite our station. 3 men were severely burnt. The whole garage was engulfed in blaze.

We then rushed to the garage front and took those men away from the hot blaze. 2 of my men were holding a jet and trying to put the fire out. Suddenly, there was another explosion inside the garage which forced us to retreat.

At last, the fire was out. 4 sets of oxygen and acetylene cylinders which used for welding were burnt. The garage was finally shut down after 3 months and turned to a fast food shop.
